I was going to try join this month too, but DOF's album just dropped here yesterday.--- Thank you all for the reviews. @@fitear1590 At first when DIV just upload the spot, I thought like "hmm they are going into a path know as EDM? It's going to be super good or super bad". When I got able to hear it all, I surprised myself... it was a decent music. I really want to see if they will try it more. @@emmny Because of PLASTICZOOMS, I got a bit of feeling for goth songs, but I never had a look for one. I think emmuree will deserve a attention from me now. @@CAT5 I was already going to try THE MORTAL, because of the goth beat, it sounds cool and dark, but I haven't noticed the covers (maybe it's lazyness from me) and you gave me a push for me to check it out. (Lord of darkness... lol) Mine ↓ Develop One's Faculties/insert memory The long awaited first full album from the band has finally released, and it's great combination. insert memory is probably my favorite, it's all you have waiting for and a bit more, looks like a mix of their songs in one song. The guitar's riffs are amazing, not only in this track but in all the album. The full album it's a trip, a good trip. coldrain/HEART OF THE YOUNG This is one of the songs which you can find Masato and his friends showing that they can make songs without the heavy beat they are used to do. Beautiful lyrics with a great rhythm following vocals. HEART OF THE YOUNG it's no doubts, a masterpiece, along with the album which have some classic and powerful vibe from old records in some tracks.

lynch. - D.A.R.K. -In the name of evil-

After weeks of listening to lynch.'s new album I've come to the conclusion that "D.A.R.K. -In the name of evil-" ranks among the best of lynch.'s repertoire. Seriously, I haven't had this much fun listening to a lynch. album since "I BELIEVE IN ME". Let's get right into it. INTRODUCTION is nothing special but does a good enough job as a transitional piece. It's just a group of strings playing louder and louder until it climaxes into the next song. D.A.R.K. starts out just as you might think: Heavy and, well, dark. But, the song becomes softer going into the chorus. Hazuki's melody is melancholic and the addition of piano adds a soft beauty. The song is a steady back and forth between the heavy and soft sections but it all gels quite nicely. There's no time to take it easy though as ANTARES ramps up the energy. Immediately, I hear remnants of "Inferiority Complex" in the guitars and the steady "boom-chuck" cadence of the drums. Personally, I'm not a fan of that style but all can be forgiven if the chorus is awesome. Unfortunately, the chorus is weak and uninspired and just doesn't seem to fit the tone of the album set so far. It sounds too bright. However, a little over halfway the song a break down comes out of nowhere and shakes up the place. It's just too bad it doesn't last longer. In fact, because it's so abrupt it breaks the flow of the song and I question if it might have been better had they left it out. In the end, it just feels like lynch. took a weak "Inferiority Complex" era song and re-purposed it for "-In the name of evil-". If the last track didn't get you pumped though, EVOKE hits hard and keeps the momentum going. Hazuki lets out a visceral yell as the drums are relentlessly blasting and guitars are riffing. The chorus melody is really catchy and ranks among one of my favorites and, there's another amazing breakdown in this song. Next up is the medium-tempo jazzy rock track GHOST. While it's nothing jaw dropping, it's refreshing to hear the band do something different for a change. I don't like that it's right after EVOKE though as the change in pace drags the album down. For circus music lovers and radio listeners, lynch. starts out ILLUMINATI with a "crossing-a-tightrope-type" song played on timpani and organs under a radio filter. But, don't worry. If you're not a fan of either, the song launches back into their heavy and dark style. This is another song with a fantastic chorus and the use of Hazuki's backup screams add some brutality. The band is holding back no punches and hits us with another break down but this time with more discord and ferocity. We finally get to our first ballad, ETERNITY. There's not too much to say except that it's all beautiful: The pulsing bass, rolling toms, articulate piano, swirling guitars, and the heartfelt vocals. Quadruple kick drum is the name of the game with FALLEN. It's a straight forward song with great melodies but the quadruple kick cadence in the drums helps add some extra emphasis to really drive those melodies through the song. It's a nice more energetic extension of ETERNITY. BEAST brings the tempo back up with some awesome riffs and screaming. The chorus is simple but well built and memorable. It's actually similar to ANTARES as Hazuki even uses the same "whooah-ooh-oh"s for the backup vocals in the chorus. lynch. might have been better off renaming the album "D.A.R.K. -In the name of break downs-" because another great one is featured here. Initially I had problems with the length and felt that thet song could've have used more sections, but I've grown to enjoy the length and even its repetitive nature. At least it's not as short as INVADER. Clocking in at 1:27 we have the shortest song here on the album (I think maybe even the shortest lynch. song ever). As a result, all I have to say is it's a fast, heavy song with some great slap bass action and a decent chorus. COSMOS was one of my most anticipated songs on the album. Part of that anticipation can be attributed to the amazing guitar riff heard in the preview. However, it ended up falling short of expectations. I just wanted the song to revolve around the awesome riff, but it takes another 2 minutes from the beginning of the chorus to get there again (aka the end of the song). I think the problem is that they approached this song like GALLOWS where the first half is heavy, the second half is chorus, and the ending is back to heavy. The track could've have benefited from being shorter or being written to sprinkle the riff in more throughout the song. MELANCHOLIC is another wonderful ballad that manages to stay a different flavor than the previous two before it (FALLEN is a ballad right?....Power ballad maybe?...). Again, not much to say except that it's beautiful. We finally come to the last track MOON. First off, I just want to say I love that it extends from the last song by using similar guitar effects/sounds. Basically, I'm just trying to say it really sounds like the perfect song after MELANCHOLIC. It's a really upbeat track and ends the album nicely. Essentially, it's like all the other lynch. album closers (seriously, all lynch. albums end on a more upbeat note). But, it did make me think. Nearly 80% of the album was upbeat like MOON. D.A.R.K., ILLUMINATI, and maybe COSMOS were really the only tracks that delivered that dark and evil theme. All the other songs were either just heavy but not dark/nefarious, or ballads. I enjoyed the album a lot, but I'm thinking maybe the album was misnamed. Still, I regard "D.A.R.K. -In the name of evil-" as one of lynch.'s best works. Most of the songs are fantastic, the pacing of the album is spot on for the most part, and the variety of song types keeps every listen enjoyable. I swear the album only gets better with each listen.

    Last movie you saw.

Jurassic World - Far better than I had expected, but it just pales compared to the original, and let us be honest here; this is more a remake of the two first films than a sequel. It's basically a modern and updated version of the original. It's enjoyable for what it is. In fact I was very much entertained, but it's not something I'll rewatched very often. And a few things were just too stupid. Not sure what they were thinking. Anyway, I was entertained. A 7/10 type of film I guess. A weak 7, but a 7. I did like the battle at the ending, though. Felt like a proper kaiju fight. Very surprising, but cool. The most disappointing thing here is the amount of CGI. I could only spot a few scenes where they used cool, charming animatronic dinosaurs. The rest looked like CGI. Rather good CGI, but CGI nonetheless. It's a shame they didn't follow the original in it's use of practical/animatronic and CGI. It's basically the perfect recipie for how to use CGI.

For me it would be: Laughin' Nose D'erlanger Die in Cries Kuroyume SADS Luna Sea (I'll explain this one in a minute) any VK band that became huge/popular after 2005 (excluding An Cafe, Mejibray, and Lycaon) The "any VK band that became huge/popular after 2005" thing is because I had a Kpop phase for like three years. After that I had a 77 Punk phase that turned into an 1980's Japanese punk and 1970's Japanese rock phase. Then that turned into a Japanese glam metal and glam rock phase, and which became an early VK phase. Now I'm slowly trying to get back into the more modern VK stuff. I never listen to Luna Sea because back in 1999, I became a huge Morning Musume fan because of "Love Machine". My "oshi" at the time was Ishiguro Aya. I was PO'd when graduated from Momusu because she didn't want to break up with Luna Sea's Shinya. My little 10 year old brain had decided that Luna Sea was 'the evilest thing ever'. Now days, it makes me laugh to think how stupid I was as a kid. However, I never really tried listening to Luna Sea as an adult.

I haven't done this in quite a while! Let's get to it. Comet Lucifer - An interesting plot and world setting was devised in the first episode. Then, I felt like the writers got stuck in Detail Drive and we haven't moved since. There's a lot of build-up but by the fifth episode (I only watched four) I should have a general idea of what the plot is about and where the story is going. And frankly, I don't have it. Two more eps and then I'm dropping it. Concrete Revolution - Talk about compensating for an uninteresting plot by convoluting it to the point where no one cares anymore. So there's this organization that protects supernatural people from other people for unknown reasons, except one of them decides to leave and it's an issue and we're chasing him and we don't know why. It's been four episodes and they move back and forth between three different points in time to avoid explaining why anything is happening. There's selling a mystery and then being completely unable to write a story. I know of two other people IRL watching this show and neither can tell me the slightest bit about the overall story after four episodes. Total garbage! Heavy Object - this show failed to grab my attention entirely. The story wasn't doing it for me and the action is stiff and very limited. If it's going to be an anime about war and machines, it needs to be much more engaging for me. Shinmai Maou no Testament S2 - why did I even start watching this BS in the first place? A more erotic version of DxD but instead of the protagonist being cool, he's some overpowered wussbag that won't land some tail when it's being thrown right at him. And dear god does every episode have a ten-minute montage of nonsensical ecchi bullshit that doesn't push the plot forward....which is actually pretty fucking dope when the main characters aren't the focus. Such a confused show that would have a lot of potential if it didn't use so much fanservice. Undecided as to if I'm following this or not. K: Return of Kings - yaaaas. Best thing out right now IMHO. Ace of Diamond S2 - best baseball anime I've ever seen. It has some pacing issues and they just love to drag out games and prepare hype. But it is really well done, teaches you a lot about baseball, and does a good job at developing all of its characters. I'm surprised I've become this attached to Seido, Inashiro, and Yakushi to the point where I don't want any of them to lose. Plus the way drama unfolds both on and off the mound is very well done! There's always something to look forward to each week. Recommended for anyone who likes sports anime and doesn't mind baseball. One Punch Man - a show about a superhero for fun who kills everything in one hit. A complete power trip and joke but one done so well I enjoy it! One of my surprise favorites of the season! Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen - there was a ton of build-up at the beginning of this show and it just seems to have taken that potential and gone nowhere with it. S1 had a very anti-climactic ending and S2 isn't making big strides to make up for lost time. Shit needs to start happening or my attention is going to wander... Gakusen Toshi Asterisk - Japanese Star Wars, featuring harems, a luddite of an MC, and high school. Claudia Enfield is the biggest reason why I watch this show. Her bipolar personality is the most interesting, complex facet of this show. I also like how they hint that the corruption goes much deeper than it initially seems. The action is pretty intense too! Everyone else is a walking trope that I don't care for too much. Good to watch if you don't mind turning your brain off. Overall verdict: Better than last season
