    Japanese metal!

We have a punk thread so I thought we should have a metal thread as well. Post everything japanese and metal, old or new doesn't matter. General talk about japanese metal. Simple as that. https://hellsheadbangers.bandcamp.com/track/satanik-holocaust-2 The rocking motherfuckers in Barbatos has a new album out soon, Straight Metal War, their first new album for 9 years. I'm a fan of Barbatos and their black/thrash/punk metal, so I am looking forward to this. It's more of the same, but when your usual output is great there's no need to change so who gives a fuck about that. I love the vocals on Goodbye High School Girls. Sounds like an improved Shigeyuki Koide (Gorgon) or something. Should be cool, and I hope we hear more of that on the album. Sludge gods Corrupted has a new EP released a month ago called 喪失:Loss. Looking forward to hear this one, as it's always exciting with new material from these guys. Couldn't find any of the songs online after a quick search though.

I'm already liking this so much better than anything I heard on GANGSTA. I'm glad they're releasing something great before they take their break.

I don't know that much but I'll just post some great tunes Already mentioned but this song is very intensifying! the ending solo ohmylord!! short lived band. loved their only album. plus that promo song or whatever it was. pretty good I enjoyed this song a lot when I first heard it. I'm not so fond with the metal sub genres and what not, but this is power metal right? I think I found this song on the DeG Pandora station or most likely could be X. but yeah I dig this. oh dude i use to look around youtube vids of touhou, which i still dont know what that is basically. like is touhou the band or an anime. and they are epic!

lol, u mad bro? don't worry, here's help for your spontaneous, incoherent bursts of anger and inferiority complex http://www.amazon.com/X-Cream-Penis-Enlargement-Cream/dp/B00G9GIKTW more on topic the already mentioned "church of misery" are obviously magnificent, and in a similar territory "boris" is a pretty safe bet (although most of their material probably is more on the "experimental/noise" side of things) on the blackmetal (well, post-blackmetal-hardcore-sthsth) frontier "COHOL" is a splendid ensemble, great guitarwork and drumming coupled with some complex, yet easily digestable songwriting. A+ this band "Cyberne" is probably from somewhere in the grind kind of things, which is probably more punk than metal, but whatever. their own genre description range somewhere between "intellectual hyper-extreme" to "tokyo noise ultra terror" or something, i call troll regardless the music is great, they sometimes feature a grad total of three drumkits to blast you with super fast odd timesignature goodness with insane amounts of energy. good stuff funnily enough the truest "metal" thing from a musical standpoint here is some touhou. most of the time i'm not a huge fan of these, because of either some pisspoor production or lazy songwriting (well, -arrangement) or both, but "Demetori" sure is something worth checking out. some of the most epic shreddy kitsch-laden melodic instrumental powermetal one can imagine. there probably won't ever be a post about japanese metal where i don't mention "knellt" super unknown osaka psychedelic doom entity with massive sound, great songs and superbe musicians and vocals. (unfortunately no studio stuffs on utube, but the live gives an impression...)

im sorry but i loved the obscure remake ( its lazy as hell but tbh obscure needed the BR00TAL remake and while they didnt do much other than detune their guitars and sound more evil i think it works rlly well for a simple song like obscure. i think tsumi to batsu is a lil too weird and shifty to just metalify (??) like obscure

    Post your "UNPOPULAR" music opinions!

echoing what ender-ender and rocketeer have said above.. i don't intend to change your mind (nor can i), but it's difficult for me to agree with how emotional attachment to the band or musicians behind the music is somehow a residue of childhood we must banish or the emblem of adolescent naivety that we all ought to eventually grow out of. ok fine, flesh and soundwaves are different things; but psychologically they aren't as separable as two disparate words on paper. after all music doesn't just fall off a tree - especially the sort of music that resonates with one on an extremely intimate level, and which profoundly affects him/her for a long time (maybe even the rest of their lives). it seems obviously logical then, at least in one's mind, to feel like the musician can speak to you (or a part of yourself) in a way that your parents or closest friends or the person physically beside you never could and never will. i should also add that lots of people i know capable of this experience lead perfectly normal and well-adjusted lives without the tiniest bit of delusional fantasies about the musicians themselves. if anything, i've always felt that any dogged insistence on uncoupling music from the people who made it is precisely the kind of thought that drives some people to happily decide that the music is all they care about, as a result of which they couldn't care less about supporting the musicians behind it since these 'strangers' are so remote and divorced from their emotional investment anyway. speaking for myself, i definitely enjoy the company of fans who are more intense (i.e. 'insane') about musicians whom they don't know in person but who means a great deal to them - and no, i see nothing 'weak' about that - over those who discuss bands and music matter-of-factly with a straight face as if they are being interviewed for their professional opinion on global warming. this latter group of people gets me terribly tetchy and over time i find it tiring to associate with them. i guess if you really want to you could call emotional attachment to the bands irrational, but for me this kind of irrationality is a lot more humanly valuable than the 'stoicism' you demand of people as if grieving a disbandment is somehow a betrayal of our own intelligence. because we are more than that.

Alright so my confirmed watches for this season are: Arslan Senki - Since it's medieval fantasy, it's a guaranteed watch for me. Kekkai Sensen - The debut ep was a confusing mess that reminded me of K. However, it's getting better.

I understand people being upset with a band they enjoyed changing and playing different music compared to before but jeez at least respect that they lasted ten year's already, their ballads are pretty damn good, not "gawd awful". Sometimes fan's can just be plain jerk's, just at least give them the respect they deserve for ten year's of making music without completely calling them trash. Let's be a good community not one that other people can reference as a "At least we're not as bad as those people on Monochrome Heaven". Have an opinion please, but don't just be an absolute waste of time to anyone who genuinely want's to know about this album. Sorry for the rant and congratulations Sadie on surviving ten year's in the music industry!

here is an another reason, from the japanese vk forum tanuki, the translation is from fuckyeahtanuki.tumblr.com: "Lycaon's Breakup Okay Lycaon fans, I’ve been stalking the thread about Lycaon’s breakup, and the only thing I can come up with is that there is a lot of speculation that they’re breaking up mostly to get away from their management (Shimizuya Records), who overwork them and don’t give them enough money. There has been a lot of talk about how Lycaon is overworked and has no time to rest basically for years on tanuki, and the speculation is that they’ve finally reached a breaking point. There are some people who are skeptical of this explanation (like, “They’ve been with this company for so many years, so there has to be more to it than just that” etc. etc.) as well as a lot of people being hopeful that it’s true because they think that means Lycaon might come back under another management company, perhaps with a different name."
