Cool, last mini album rocked so I am looking forward to this. Btw, none of these titles are more edgy, foreign, or just plain stupid than releases by X Japan, Buck Tick, or Hide, for example. It was always a part of heavy rock music, and IMO is cooler than song titles with 20 obscure kanji, or some 'poetic' sentence about a flower. A title is just a way to get attention, and it is working for BORN and Sadie, despite them being the bands that it is cool to hate.

Some good Japanese stoner: Church of Misery, Eternal Elysium, Boris, Redwood Blues, Sonic Flower, Chūgakusei Kanoke, Greenmachine, King Goblin Some good Japanese sludge: Corrupted, dot(.), Boris, Garadama, Wheel of Doom, Zenocide, Birushanah, Congenital Hell, Godgrind, Nerveless, Sithter, Solar Anus, Church of Misery, Boris, Sonic Flower, Corrupter, Solar Anus and Congential Hell all have must-haves in their discograhy. Also, sludge can be as fast as it can be slow. A lot of bands owes more to the old hardcore of Black Flag, while many others owes more to the bluesy doom og Black Sabbath, but in general sludge is a mixture of hardcore punk and traditional doom metal. But you can also mix hardcore and traditional doom without being sludge, so there is more to it than that. But in general, it's a fine way to recognize sludge. A filthy mix of hardcore and doom metal. Yummy! Saint Vitus (one of the original doom metal bands) mixed Black Flag with their brand of traditional doom on Hallow's Victim without making a sludge album. But you get the point.

This is my first review here on MH, and this single is worth of a review -Yamiyo no Lion: the a-side of the single confirms again what Kamijo can really do, a reprise of his natural style and genre that characterized him since Lareine. Rhytmic song with gothic epic chorus, which makes it a very good tune --->9/10 -Bastille: the best song of the single imo!! Revolutionary, it is made on a style atypical for Kamijo and approaches him to industrial music -in fact in some ways it reminds me of Schwein's music- --->10/10 -Unmei: this track is the self-cover of the third part of God Palace -Method of Inheritance-, with a music closer to Versailles' Remember Forever. It is a very enjoyable thing he made for his fans and i'd like that he could make more self-covers in the future. --->9/10 Final Vote ---> 9/10 It is a very good single, like Moulin Rouge has been: but it shows that Kamijo can do everything (yes also heavy music) without any problems. And i want to do a wish: he should try an industrial concept, i think that he will be successful

In my post I pointed out how the many of the very first VK releases had Western styled titles with similar themes to get attention. So how is this new or changing anything? And X Japan are far more 'respected' than pretty much any band. VK and Rock always had an air of doing whatever you want, and defining your own sense of what is cool, rather than just trying to fit in. Yet when any band tries something different, or comes out with a loud title or look, people bash them for not following the status quo. People also complain about bands looking too similar but when someone does something that stands out they are the target of all negativity. Another popular thing is to compare them to other people to say they are copying someone as if that completely demerits them. Japan, VK, Rock and music in general are centered around taking old things and recycling them into new products, yet this only applies as criticism to certain bands who are not in the 'cool books'. IMO this band is way better than all the negativity they get, and there is nothing new about this title, but obv. It somewhat works as this thread as of my typing this has more replies and views than UNiTE.'s thread, which has way more content for a more popular band.

No problem. I've heard alot people mistaking the snare hammerings in Different Sense and Decayed Crow as blast beats, also. And it astounds me everytime I see the live footage, to see that it took him like 3 years to manage keeping up with his feet on these sections. Not to mention he totally skips the double bass sections in red soil... I mean in studio he can apparently do a lot of things, but the only way I can explain his fucking up live is that he doesn't appear to ever practice. Hence... good thing he stays away from blast beats.

I'll just say that I'm surprised at many of the comments here. I lived in Japan for a good while and I've never experienced anything like that. I dunno if I'm just lucky, but if someone tells me he/she had been denigrated or mocked by a random stranger on the street... Japan's probably one of the last places that will come to mind. From my own experience - and I won't pretend that it's a universal experience of Being In Japan - I've observed that alienation is something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. A lot of people feel that they won't be accepted *anyway* in a foreign land hence they make zero effort to know people in the local community. It's the same here where I live. We peer at foreigners in our midst and imagine that they won't want to be approached by us anyway, so we keep a distance from them and feel miserable at having been alienated "by them". Obviously there are instances where you do get rudely rebuffed, and that's unfortunate. Nonetheless this isn't a problem endemic to Japan - there are rude idiots everywhere. It's also no one's fault that there's always gonna be a language/culture barrier. This problem is compounded in Japan as they're generally not fluent in conversational English, and instead of embarrassing themselves they tend to avoid gaijin. Some people construe this as "being rude" but I don't because if I were in their shoes I'd probably have done that too. This brings up another problem I've noticed that's the opposite of the first - some visitors to Japan can be overzealous. Let's just say Japanese people generally don't like others (especially strangers) to be too in-your-face or direct, especially if they can already hardly understand what you're trying to say. For my part, rather than clenching my fist and whining that this barrier exists, I did everything I could to try and overcome it by learning their language. After all, I'm more interested in their culture/language than they are in mine, so why not? By and large things have worked out very well in my various interactions with natives. In any case, I would advise taking others' anecdotal "evidence" with a pinch of salt. Some people may have had bad experiences - and I'm sorry to hear that - but these aren't exemplary of what living in Japan as a non-Japanese feels like. The bottom line is that if you treat people in a way that you'd like to be treated, there shouldn't be problems. Edit: Regarding the topic, it's unanswerable because how would I know what living in Japan as a Japanese feels like? I believe this was basically what Ikna said as well - without knowing that there's no basis for comparison between the two "possible scenarios." However if I have a chance to move there permanently (and that's different from "wishing I'm Japanese") I think I'll be happy to do so

digi always reminds me of some mix between Bambi and a pin-up model! I saw this interesting make-up tutorial, and I wanted to try the eyeshadow she showed in it. Normally I don't use eyeshadow, so of course the make-up session turned into taking-selfies-and-photoshopping hour. (Pfft, the wig is too up and three hours of sleep -eyes.)

I totally hate mosh pits, crowds of people pushing each others around to get to the front row, etc. Crowd surfing is the biggest nightmare for me (but it doesn't happen on vk lives). I go to a concert to listen to the music and watch the performance, not to be thrown around like a rag. It scares me and I can't focus on the live at all, because I only think how to survive in that crowd and what hurts me at the moment, or whose elbow is stabbing me. I'm very short, so I can be either in the first row, or completely in the back. It sucks I can't just sit down somewhere in the back and watch everything, though. All venues should have some seats on a higher platform in the back, so people could just watch the live from there without getting interrupted or tired (standing for too long is a painful problem for me, because of the health problems).

It must be because I'm being moved to tears right now. 3. ｄｉｅＳ is in Unicode. I am a Unicode hater. Everyone needs to use regular letters. Fuck those oversized Japanese equivalents you can all use ASCII and lick my chocolate bum. 4. There are too many viking bands. Shirtless muscled men makes me feel insecure in my manliness.

Live at home until you're 30 with Mom and Dad because you can't afford to buy a house? Exam hell? Finally get your job as a salaryman and work overtime routinely because it's expected of you to do so, to the point where there's a term associated with "death by overwork"? All this happening in a country with one of the highest suicide rates and one of the highest depression rates? I can't imagine why no one my age in Japan is obsessed with sex. They're all too busy trying to survive and do what's expected of them.
