The Wagakki Band, which consists of seven musicians and the singer Yuko Suzuhana, deftly fuses traditional Japanese instruments with contemporary rock. Though the stage may get a bit crowded with a drummer, a guitarist, a bassist, a tsugaru-jamisen(Japanese lute) player, a koto (Japanese harp) player, a shakuhachi (Japanese flute) player, a taiko drummer, and a fan-swinging singer, they manage to put on a surprisingly dynamic and cohesive performance.

(quoting because I am too lazy to write an introduction of my own, but hey, let the videos guide your decisions!)

They will have a major debut album (consisting of vocaloid covers) out 2013/4/23, and it's called "ボカロ三昧" (Bokaro Zanmai (?)).

In the meanwhile though, you can digest their mini-album here !!!

Been getting into them recently. I think they are awesome. I really like the enka-esque quality in the singer's voice (on other occasion it might've annoyed me but it's perfect here), and how all the instruments are complimenting each other. Pretty appropriate music for the season :) I bet they are spectacular to watch live.

Gotta say the choice to cover vocaloid songs is pretty odd to me though.
